Elandsvlei Conservancy has been very creative in engaging conservancy members and the surrounding communities in the conservancy and have carried out a number of projects adding value to the conservancy as a whole. Their ongoing commitment and dedication to conserving their wetlands is evident!

Silver: Henley Conservancy

Henley Conservancy has been very creative in engaging conservancy members and has carried out a number of projects adding value to the conservancy and the river. They display dedication and an ongoing commitment to conserve their river!

Bronze: Cloverdene Conservancy

The conservancy is putting huge efforts into upgrading their conservancy and improving the quality of the wetlands as well as additional projects specifically targeting the protection of bullfrogs. They are also involved in educational projects

Cullinan Conservancy is doing a great job of addressing Biodiversity within their conservancy. They cover biophysical, social/cultural and economic enhancement of their immediate area, by trying to sustain the balance, in addressing larger pressures rather than focussing on one species.

 Silver: Peglerae conservancy

A very close second place to Cullinan Conservancy very commendable projects especially the protection of the peglerae and forward-thinking initiatives to protect and enhance this endangered specie.

Bronze: Smuts Farm Conservancy

Smuts Farm Conservancy is doing great work in a very urban environment. There is a cross-cutting theme of biodiversity protection of a sensitive and hugely threatened ecosystem and various specific species known to this type of system.

Meerkat Award 2007

We liked the very hands-on approach. A great variety of projects involving the community as well as some projects aimed at children. We especially liked the Noise /Air and light pollution awareness

Silver: Klipriversuikerboshrand conservancy

This is a community driven conservancy  which has established itself as an important player in their local Idp  they are involved in many project including river cleanups The conservancy has bought a land rover for use by conservancy members to patrol the river and biodiversity hot spots
